Happy HNT & Working from Home

Today is my first day working at home. The plus? These are my work shoes. Old, comfy slippers! (See that bit of ankle showing there? That's your HNT!)

So far, the best part is the comfy, and that I somehow seem to get a bit more done. The bad part is, it's right in my bedroom. No other place in condo living for the computers and desk, etc. Sigh. But Maya gets to sleep until 7, we have breakfast together (at work, we would go to our seperate computers and eat at desks...she doing neomail or reading Kim Possible fan fic, me doing work email, etc.), we walk the dog to her school, then I walk the dog back. There aren't a bunch of tempting snacks luring me into the kitchen. And trust me, there were always a LOT of tempting snacks at work...I think I might be able to get used to this. Even having two computers on the desk isn't as bad as I thought it might be. Plus, I can listen to tunes a bit louder now. Double plus good...

My husband and I also work from home. I have for a few years now (only part time) and my husband has been for a few months now. It's wonderful!!! Enjoy!

It sounds good to me!

I remember well the siren call of the work snacks. From party goodies to vending machine bad things to the in-house cafe, there was always something bad to eat.

I'm so jealous! In addition to the slipper bonus, you don't have to minimize your screen when you are blog reading like I have to....sigh.

I'm so happy for you J :D. I have it pretty good living 3 minutes from my work. And it's casual here, so I HAVE worn my slippers to work! It doesn't get any better.

Cheers to you

Your desk is so NEAT. It makes me want to ruffle things up a bit...

HelloMelissa & Blackbeltmama, LOVE the working from home so far, except for dreaming about work. I'd be interested in hearing about the ups and downs. Maybe you could do a post on it?

Tracy, I have to get dressed to take Maya to school and walk the dog...otherwise, it might get ugly. But I can always come home and slip on the slippers...

Gina, I had to go in to the office today, and I ate so many red vines! Working from home should be MUCH better for my waist line.

Ms. Mama, I have a confession. I made sure the mac was in the frame of the pic, just for you, because I know how you feel about it. Am I pandering to my audience? Do I care? ;)

Jessica,Yeah, I can read blogs full screen. Nice. But not that much time during the day, unfortunately. Lots of work to do...

Anon, I'm hoping that drinking during the day doesn't become necessary...but one never knows. My desk is right next to my bed, so a glass of wine might knock my productivity down to zero while I take a few zzzz's. :)

Autumn's Mom, THANKS! Glad you can wear slippers, too. That rocks.

Ally Bean, I'm sorry I destroyed your illusions. No burqua for me. Ankles away!

L, I know...it's very neat. I hope to keep it this way, because, as I have said, it's a VERY small space, and it's in my bedroom...I hate the idea of having a big mess of work right next to my sleepy place.

Last night, I dreamt of work all night. That blows. Hope that doesn't keep up due to the close proximity of the desk, or it's going to have to move to the bathroom!
